The arrival of my local council’s adult community learning brochure reminded me that it is never too late to learn something new.
The brochure offered a wide variety of courses including several baking ones that I am sure are designed to help cultivate the talents of those wishing to contact their inner Great British Bake Off contestant.
For those of us not wanting to spend time in a classroom at a fixed hour and place, the internet and mobile technology offer an infinite source of knowledge available at our fingertips whenever we want it.
Let’s face it, there is now an app for just about anything.
As well as lots of free online courses, there are so many people willing to share their knowledge for the benefit of others too. So if you can’t sleep and fancy learning about the life and works of the Brontë Sisters or how to make cupcakes at 3am, it has never been easier to do so.
The chances are that if you are online at any time, you will also have a quick peak at your Twitter timeline, Facebook Newsfeed and any other social media platform you enjoy interacting with. It is so tempting isn’t it to just to see what the world is up to in those spare few moments you have.
The good news is that in those precious minutes you can learn some great stuff that other people have shared. I know that I have and I will continue to learn something every day.
What do you think? What do you fancy having a go at learning? Do let us know.
