Keep A Done List

small_4762384399I recently came across this interesting blog post 17 Small Productivity Habits . No 16 on this list really resonated with me so I decided to set myself a challenge and write a done list for a week.

I will admit I have never been much of a list aficionado, but I really liked the idea of setting myself this challenge as it meant I could see what I had achieved and it would allow me to get a confidence boost if the week seemed like it wasn’t going very well.

Technology wise, I chose to keep this list using a combination of Word and mobile device apps Toodledo / 2day  but there are plenty of other options to choose from including a notebook and pen.

When the week was finished, I looked at the combined lists and wow, I was completely amazed.  I had done so much more that I thought I had. It just goes to show that we are all capable of so much more than we think we are.

So go on, how about having a go at keeping a done list? The result might just surprise you. If you do, I would love to hear how you get on.

  1. That’s a fantastic idea. I’m very much a list person and only feel satisfied when I’ve crossed loads of things off. I bet if I wrote a done list I wouldn’t be so hard on myself.
