Be Inspired By Others: Who Would You Invite For Dinner?

I am sure that we all have people that we admire and who inspire us.

Who Would You Invite For Dinner?

These people could be

  • Someone close to us.
  • Current celebrities/ people of influence
  • Historical figures (from any period of history)
  • Characters from Books, Films or TV series.

What if we were given a unique opportunity to invite 3 of them to an exclusive private dinner party?

Who would they be?

Why would we invite them?

Why do we admire them?

What is it about them that inspires us?

Having pondered this question for myself, I would invite the following people:-

Lewis Hamilton. Double Formula 1 World Champion.

It is no secret that I love Motorsport and am a follower of Formula 1. Lewis is one of my favourite drivers.

Lewis has known what he wanted in life since he was very young and has gone all out to make that vision a reality.

I’d invite Lewis because I’d love to know what keeps him motivated and a bit more about the story behind his drive to succeed.

Anne Bronte. (1820 – 1849). Novelist.

I have been a fan of the Bronte sisters since I was a child and have visited the Parsonage where they lived a number of times.

Anne, I think, gets a bit overshadowed by her older sisters Charlotte and Emily but she is the successful author of Agnes Grey and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall and she inspires me.

I’d invite Anne because I’d love to know what motivated her to write and what inspired her to do so.

Kerr Avon. Fictional character from British cult sci-fi tv series Blake’s 7.

I have been a fan of Blake’s 7 since it was originally transmitted in the late 1970s / early 1980s.

There is something that intrigues me about Avon. He is a bit of an enigma.

On the one hand, he is a bit of a loner who doesn’t like to rely on others for his own survival.  And yet when the chips are down and the crew’s survival is at stake, he becomes a team player.

I’d invite Avon because I want to know what really motivates him.

Who would you invite and why? I’d love you to hear who your dinner guests would be?

  1. Anne Bronte is an interesting choice – the lesser known of the three Bronte sisters. If I had to choose between the three, I would have chosen Emily simply because I love Wuthering Heights. Anyway, I’ve played this game before. The first one I would choose would be John Steinbeck. Of course, that might be because I’ve just read every single one of his books (almost – still two left to go). He’s a really interesting figure, I’d love to hear what he had to say about his life.

    1. Hi Steve,

Thank you for sharing who you invited for dinner.

I am not sure I have read anything by John Steinbeck. Maybe I should go and check him out.

      Have a great weekend.

      Jo
