BEDM2016 Day 1 – Something New About Me

So here we are on Day 1 of Blog Every Day in May and today’s topic is Something New about Me.

So what can I tell you that you don’t already know about me. Last year as part of BEDM, I  told you that I am a cardmaking Virgo.

Well, this year I am going to tell you that I have a secret desire to be a time traveller.  I would love to be able to leave 2016 and reappear at a date sometime in the past.  I like to think I’d make a good Doctor Who companion. Maybe next time.

So what is top of my time travel bucket list?

That is very easy to answer. I would very much like to visit the Great Exhibition of 1851. I have seen pictures of and read books about the great Crystal Palace in Hyde Park. But it intrigues me so much that I would love to see inside it in real life and experience all the sights and sounds that the very successful bustling exhibition had to offer. Who knows, maybe I might even get the chance to see Queen Victoria.

And who would I most like to meet if I got the chance?

I am actually a bit hesitant about meeting anyone from the past. Not so much because I know that I would be awestruck to meet someone famous, but because I would be worried that I would do or say something that might change the course of our known history. So no asking anyone to do a selfie with me then.

That said, one of the people I would most like to meet is Anne Bronte. I have been a fan of Anne’s for a while and would love the chance to talk to her about what inspired her to write her novel The Tenant of  Wildfell Hall.

If you got the chance, would you like meet anyone from the past? And if so, who?

  1. What a great post! I’d love to time travel too but i think I’d be terrified! I’m a big Bronte sisters fan so I’d love to meet them and see what gave them inspiration in their writing.

I’d really like to meet Mother Theresa and Florence Nightingale. To feel their compassion and kindness for their fellow man would be incredibly humbling, I think. I’ll look forward to reading your other #BEDM posts.

    1. Hi Tabi,

Thank you for commenting on my blog.

I like your people to meet choices. I am not sure I’d like to be on the battlefields with Florence though.

      Have a great week

      Jo
