As 2016 draws to a close, it is most definitely time to ramp up thinking about what we want to achieve in 2017.
And for me, that means the chance to define what I want to achieve in the coming year by setting a word for the year to guide me.
I do want 2017 to be an awesome year in which I achieve lots, but awesome just isn’t very measurable so it needs to be something else.
So what to set for this coming year…
Well, I chose action for 2016 and I certainly have taken action on things.
I did consider using the same word again, but I really wanted something that goes a bit further than that.
I will continue taking action in 2017, but I want the action to take me much further.
So I wanted the word to reflect the fact that in 2017, I don’t want to be giving up when the going gets tough or looks at first glance that it will.
I also wanted it to energise me when I am having one of those “I can’t be bothered – it doesn’t really matter” moments when I’d much rather be social media surfing instead of actually doing something towards my 2017 goals.
So the word I have chosen for 2017 is
I think it resonates a determination to succeed and not give up at the very 1st hurdle when the way forward looks just too damn hard or will take a long time to achieve.
How about you? Can you set a word for 2017? What you are going to choose? Please do share your thoughts in the comments below.
